SIERRA DIVISION - ENCOUNTER IN THE WILDS: 3D ENVIRONMENT ART CHALLENGE - OFFICIAL TERMS

By entering this challenge, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER THIS CHALLENGE. Downloading free assets from the FAB marketplace does not constitute a purchase. THIS CHALLENGE IS VOID WHERE RESTRICTED OR PROHIBITED BY LAW.

1. Sponsor
​

This challenge is sponsored by Sierra Division Inc. on behalf of itself and its affiliates, with an address at Sierra Division Inc. 4023 Kennett Pike Suite 50598 Wilmington, DE 19807, U.S.A. (hereinafter “Sierra Division” or “Sponsor”).

​

2. Eligibility
​

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older to be eligible to participate in this challenge. This challenge is open to individuals only. No team entries and no corporate or institutional entries are permitted in this challenge. Employees of Sponsor, its affiliates, and their respective contractors, service providers and professional advisors connected with this challenge, as well as members of their immediate families and/or households, are NOT eligible to enter. Redemption of prizes is stipulated upon the Terms and Conditions of the software/service that is offered. Challengers from North Korea, China, Syria, Iran, Cuba, Russia, and Crimea, as well as where prohibited by law, will not be considered.

3. Entry Period
​

The entry period for this challenge begins at 10AM PST (Pacific Standard Time) on September 8, 2025 and ends 11:45PM PST (Pacific Standard Time) on November 6, 2025 (hereinafter the “Entry Period”).

​

4. Entering The Challenge
​

To participate in the Challenge, you must join both our Discord server and our community forum. A Discord account is required to access the forum and take part. An Epic Games account is also required to download the free asset packs from the FAB marketplace needed for your submission. 

 

You may join the challenge at any time during the entry period. Maximum of one entry and submission per person.
 

5. The Challenge Artwork:
​

Your Encounter in the Wilds submission MUST ONLY use assets from the following asset packs, downloaded from FAB for free.NO OTHER ASSETS MAY BE USED. No asset modifications may be applied. (Only existing material instance adjustments). NO NEW materials, textures, or assets may be imported or used.

​

Quixel Megascans

​

(OPTIONAL - Hero Asset) you may Create 1(one) hero asset to base your environment around. 

  • A Hero asset cannot be a massive custom Building or structure.

  • It could be a character, a large prop, a strange alien asteroid, a weapon, etc.

  • Hero asset should not use more then 350k polygons and 4 texture sets

  • Note: this asset will be considered in the judging process, so consider the scope of the project, timeline, and quality you can deliver. You may not want to include a hero asset if you can still deliver a beautiful story driven environment without it.


Additional Artwork Terms:

  • No Generative AI.

  • No NSFW, violent, obscene or political artworks.

  • All artwork created for the challenge remains the property of the artist. 

  • Sierra Division reserves the right to use and share artwork images, with artist credit, for promotional purposes.

 6. Deliverables
​

Work-in-Progress: Upon entering the challenge, you must share your journey and creative process, from first ideas to the final piece.

  • Include screenshots, notes, or short descriptions to document key steps (blockouts, composition tests, lighting passes, etc.).

  • Submissions without WIPs will not be accepted.

 

Final Artwork Submission must include:

  • Asset Breakdown: Highlight important kitbashed assets, or any custom work done (see optional Hero Asset)

  • Detail Lighting Render (Greybox): No Albedo map. Has Lighting, Normals, Roughness, Metalness. (Detail Lighting if using Unreal Engine)

  • Beauty Render: Submit up to 3 high-quality final renders of your Environment in the Wilds. 

  • Format: JPEG. 1920x1080px Minimum

  • Labeling: All submissions must include your legal name, the title of your work, and Challenge logo. Download template & logo here.

  • Optional: Turntable / Flythrough Video (max 30–45 sec).

 

7. ​Judging
​

There will be a total of three (3) prize winners. All eligible submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by a panel of qualified judges selected by Sierra Division. Submissions will be judged according to the criteria set forth:

 

  • Creativity & Originality – How unique and imaginative is the environment? Does it stand out from other submissions?

  • Artistic Composition – Quality of scene layout, framing, focal points, and overall visual balance.

  • Storytelling & Atmosphere – How well does the environment convey a sense of place, mood, or narrative?

  • Technical Execution – Effective use of assets, attention to detail, polish, and technical presentation.

  • Use of Provided Assets – How well are the free kit assets integrated or reimagined into something new. No asset modifications may be applied

  • Cohesion & Presentation – Consistency of style and quality of final renders.


 

Winners will be determined based on the skill, quality, and merit of their submissions as compared to other eligible entries. The number of entries received will affect the overall chances of winning; however, chance plays no role in the determination of winners.

 

The judges’ decisions are final and binding in all respects.

The prizes are not assignable or transferable. Brand and model of prizes are subject to change by Sierra Division at any time for any reason and substitutions will be of equal or greater value. Sierra Division is not responsible or liable for the distribution of any prizes once they are shipped to the winner. The prizes offered, and the entrants that are successful, are not distinguishable by country and do not hold any bias and are equally attainable for all participating countries and their entrants. THIS CHALLENGE HAS NOT PREVIOUSLY BEEN OFFERED. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.


 

9. Winner Announcement; Claiming and Awarding of Prize

 

The winners of the challenge will be announced on the Sierra Division Discord server the week of November 17, 2025. Within 7 days following such announcement, the winners will be notified by Sierra Division via email or direct message on Discord. To claim the prize, the winner must do the following within 7 days from the date of Sierra Division’s notification:

​

a. Confirm receipt of the notice by email/direct message (which confirmation must be sent from the same email address/account to which the notice was sent); and

​Within 21 days following its receipt of confirmation from the winner, the digital prizes will be electronically emailed to the email address supplied as part of their challenge submission.

 

b. Hardware Prizes: Within 30 days following its receipt of confirmation from the winner, Sierra Division will arrange shipment of any hardware prizes to the mailing address provided by the winner. Delivery times may vary depending on the destination. Winners are responsible for providing accurate shipping information and for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees that may apply in their country of residence. Sierra Division is not responsible for delays, damage, or loss of hardware prizes that occur during shipping.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL ENTRANTS: If a winner cannot be contacted or fails to claim the prize within the specified time period, or if the prize is returned as undeliverable, or if a winner fails to comply with any of the provisions of these Official Rules, such winner will be considered to have forfeited the prize. In such a case, the prize will be awarded to the individual who submitted the next best entry as previously determined by Sierra Division.

 

​10. Privacy

By entering this promotion you expressly consent to Sierra Division's collection, processing and use of your personal information that you provide in connection with this promotion (including, but not limited to, disclosure of your name and state of residence on a winners list and making such list available to the public) and under the terms of Sierra Division’s privacy policy, which can be accessed at https://www.sierradivision.com/privacy-policy

 

11. Taxes

 

The winner of this challenge is solely responsible for any and all applicable taxes and government charges that result from his/her receipt and/or use of the prize. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold and deduct such taxes and charges from the prize if and to the extent required by law. Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes, excise duties, or fees.

12. AGREEMENTS by Entrant

 

a. By entering this challenge, each entrant agrees and acknowledges that Sponsor and Sponsor Related Parties shall not be responsible or liable for: (i) any late, lost, stolen, forged, mutilated, corrupted, incomplete, illegible or misdirected entries; (ii) any errors, omissions, misinformation, or misidentification in an entry; (iii) any dispute or claim arising from an entrant’s participation in this challenge or his/her entry, or his/her receipt, ownership or use of the prize; (iv) any computer hardware, software, Internet, network, cable, phone, or other communication or technical errors, failures, malfunctions, interruptions, or delays; or (v) any damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer hardware, software or data that results from participation in this challenge or accessing, downloading or using any tools, files, data, software, or other articles or materials in connection with this challenge.

 

​b. By entering this challenge, each entrant agrees and consents to Sponsor’s collection, use and retention of his/her personal information for all purposes related to this challenge (including, without limitation, processing and administering entries, sharing an entrant’s personal information with Sponsor Related Parties as necessary to conduct and operate this challenge, communicating with and awarding the prize to the winner, making public announcements about the winner, and advertising, promoting and publicizing this challenge).

c. ANY ENTRY THAT IS IN BREACH OF ANY OF THE FOREGOING REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES OR IS OTHERWISE IN VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES, WILL BE DEEMED VOID AND AUTOMATICALLY BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THIS CHALLENGE.

13. Reservation of Rights by SPONSOR

 

Sponsor reserves the right, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to terminate, cancel, modify or suspend this challenge, in whole or in part, if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity of this challenge as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If this challenge or any web site associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or otherwise does not permit entry, or if infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper operation of this challenge, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion and to the extent permitted by applicable law, to disqualify any individual implicated in such action, and/or to cancel, terminate, cancel, modify or suspend this challenge, in whole or in part. Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any online service or web site or undermine the legitimate operation of this challenge is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and/or other remedies from any such person to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. In addition, Sponsor reserves the right to take down and remove any entry that becomes subject to a third-party claim for copyright infringement or for violation of any other right.

 

14. Governing Law; Jurisdiction

 

These Official Rules are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, U.S.A., without giving effect to its conflicts of law rules. Each entrant hereby submits himself or herself to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts sitting in Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.A.
